ASHE Kicks Off 2010 with Opening Day
Posted on 8 February, 2010 2:32 PMA fresh group of students, as well as some familiar faces, livened up the ASHE building today with the start of its 2010 program. Aunty Irene Thomas offered a prayer for the students and wished them a successful and prosperous year.
The day began with a bit of fun and a laugh thanks to indigenous comedian Sean Choolburra. Choolburra entertained the group with stories of his life and how he came to be doing what he loved- entertaining. Around 50 people, including ASHE students and staff, Wanganui Secondary College students and Centrelink representatives enjoyed the performance, as well as an opportunity to speak one-on-one with Sean over lunch.
Monday marked the start of course programming for the year, with the students participating in either Certificate II, III or IV level courses in either Sport or Community Recreation.
